Kupo Master High Cine Stand (543M) — Because not all light stands are created equal
When we’re flying large fixtures, rigging menace arms, or setting up on a staircase in an old terrace building in Fitzroy, this is the stand we trust.
The Kupo 543M Master High Cine Stand is part of our go-to heavy-duty grip kit. It’s built tough with an all-steel, chrome-plated construction and a wide 140cm footprint for max stability — meaning we can confidently mount large lights, modifiers, or frames at full extension, even on challenging terrain.
Why we like it:
• Dual head design: 28mm (1-1/8”) junior receiver, 16mm (5/8”) baby receiver, and a multi-direction 5/8” stud — super flexible for whatever the job needs.
• Leveling leg: Essential for setups on stairs, hills, or anywhere that isn’t a perfectly flat studio floor (which is… most places).
• Big footprint = solid support: The 140cm spread gives us confidence rigging heavy setups — like a 600D Pro with barn doors or a butterfly frame for diffusion on a sunny day.
What we actually use it for:
• Outdoor interviews, when we need to get soft key light up high with a dome or diffusion panel
• Rigging menace arms over talent in tight spaces like offices or retail stores
• Flying overhead lights in warehouse-style interiors or when ceiling rigging isn’t possible
• Supporting 4x4 frames or heavy modifiers — especially in windy or uneven locations
• Video podcast production setups where stability and height matter (think goalpost rigs with mic arms)
We bring these stands on shoots when we need serious height, flexibility, and safety — whether it’s for corporate video production, branded content, or lean doco-style setups.
