Kupo 542M Master Cine Stand — Heavy lifting, handled
Some stands fold under pressure. This one was built for it.
The Kupo 542M Master Cine Stand is part of our core heavy-duty lighting kit — especially when we’re rigging big lights or large modifiers and need peace of mind that everything will stay rock solid.
With a 40kg load capacity and a max height of 3.5 metres, this stand gives us the reach and strength we need for everything from corporate shoots in tight offices to location setups with challenging terrain.
Why we use it:
• Weight you can trust: It’s 12kg of steel — not lightweight, but that’s the point. It’s stable, reliable, and designed to support the kind of gear that smaller stands just can’t handle.
• Leveling leg: Makes outdoor and awkward locations way more doable. Set it up on stairs, sloped driveways, or rough terrain with confidence.
• Big footprint = big stability: At 1.4m, it’s one of the widest bases in our grip kit — perfect for keeping taller setups steady, even when the weather turns.
Applications we love it for:
• Lighting interviews outdoors, where we’re flying a 4x4 frame or dome in shifting conditions
• Booming lights overhead with menace arms or speedrail rigging
• Video podcast production, when mounting softboxes or lighting from above with plenty of vertical clearance
• Rigging camera sliders or Dana Dolly accessories at height
• Corporate video production, where gear security and minimal crew adjustment is essential
Bonus:
The universal combo head makes this stand super flexible on set — with 5/8” and 1-1/8” receivers plus a multidirectional stud, we can mount pretty much anything in our kit.
It folds down to 1.43m for the van, but when it’s set up, it does the job of two smaller stands with way more stability.
