Smooth, cinematic camera movement — without the gimbal wobble.
The Dana Dolly is our go-to solution when we want controlled, cinematic tracking shots without bringing in a massive grip department. It rides on precision-machined polyurethane wheels and our 6-foot scaffpipe speed rail (which we always have packed in the van) to create those beautifully smooth camera moves that just feel right.
It’s compact, easy to rig, and perfect for interviews, doco-style storytelling, and branded content that calls for motion with purpose.
Why not just use a gimbal?
Gimbals are great — and we use them too — but they deliver a different feeling.
A gimbal gives you an energetic, floating camera effect, ideal for run-and-gun scenarios.
The Dana Dolly, on the other hand, brings intentionality and weight to the shot. It’s rock-solid, smoother over long takes, and better suited to larger cinema cameras or precise compositions.
It’s also less physically demanding and more repeatable — perfect for interview B-roll, slow reveals, and polished corporate visuals that still feel grounded.
Built to integrate with our existing setup
• We’ve outfitted our dolly with an Aktiv head adapter, allowing seamless use with our Sachtler Aktiv 8 fluid head. That means fast leveling, no fuss, and easy integration with the rest of our camera support systems.
• Compatible with Mitchell mounts for larger builds if needed.
• Comes with multiple bowl adapters (75mm, 100mm, 150mm) for flexibility across camera sizes and lens setups.
What’s in the kit:
• Dana Dolly base with 16 custom-machined, low-resistance wheels
• Swivel wheel trucks to ride both straight and curved track
• Aktiv adapter for our Sachtler tripod head
• Mitchell mount compatibility
• Flight-safe hard case
• Speed rail (6ft x 2) always in the van
• Optional monitor mount and centre support for longer setups
This dolly gives us a fast, flexible way to elevate production value without over-complicating the day. And because we don’t rent out our gear, it’s always ready to roll — packed, prepped, and maintained by our team.
