Kupo CT-30M Master C-Stand — Tough, compact, ready in 2 seconds

The Kupo CT-30M is one of the workhorses of our grip kit — a compact C-stand that’s perfect for smaller locations, tighter setups, and fast-paced shoots where flexibility matters.

It’s got everything we love in a good stand: tool-less setup, a removable turtle base, and a quick spring-locking system that makes setting it up or packing it down faster than you can say “last looks.”

Why it’s in our van:

• Spring-lock turtle base: One of the fastest setups you’ll find on a C-stand. Great when you’ve got multiple setups in a day and need gear that can keep up.

• Nesting legs: Different leg heights let us stack multiple stands together, saving space both on set and in the van.

• Heavy-duty construction: With a zinc alloy base, chrome-plated steel tubing, and Heli-coil reinforced locking collars, this thing is built to last — and take a beating.

• Welded baby pin: A secure 5/8” stud right on top. No pins to lose. No wobble. Just lock and go.

Where we use it:

• Corporate video shoots, when floor space is tight and we’re tucking lights into corners or behind props

• Video podcast production, especially for overhead or off-camera lighting with softboxes or lanterns

• Interview setups, where the stand disappears into the background but still does the heavy lifting

• Behind the scenes shoots, where we’re lighting quickly but still need gear that looks clean and professional

It’s a leaner, lighter version of a classic 40” C-stand, but still handles up to 10kg of gear with no fuss. And at under 7kg, it’s the perfect mid-size option when we’re working fast and travelling light.
