DZOFilm Pictor 3-Lens Zoom Kit (14–30mm / 20–55mm / 50–125mm)
Parfocal zooms built for speed, scale, and story.
When we’re working on fast-moving projects or multi-day productions with complex setups, this Super35 zoom kit is our secret weapon. With a clean focal range from 14mm all the way to 125mm, we can move fast without compromising on look, focus, or flexibility.
These three DZO Pictor Zooms — 14–30mm, 20–55mm, and 50–125mm T2.8 — are workhorses in our lens kit. Whether we’re capturing wide exteriors, mid-shots in busy offices, or tight storytelling moments from across the room, this set means we don’t have to constantly swap primes. And when we do, all the gear positions and barrel lengths match — so it’s quick.
Why We Love Them
• True Parfocal Zooms: Focus stays locked when we zoom. That means smooth, professional shots that feel like prime lenses but move like zooms.
• Super35 Sensor Coverage: Perfectly paired with our Canon C300 Mark III — whether we’re shooting branded content, corporate video production, or on-location documentaries around Melbourne.
• T2.8 Across the Range: Offers shallow depth when we need it and gives us the flexibility to shoot in varied lighting conditions without having to bump ISO.
• Matchy-Matchy Design: Consistent gear placement, barrel size, and 95mm fronts across all three lenses. It’s a dream for our focus pullers and great for keeping things moving quickly on set.
• Bokeh with Character: 16-blade iris means creamy, round bokeh — especially handy when we’re shooting interviews or high-end brand visuals and want the background to fall away beautifully.
• Swappable Mounts (PL & EF): We run them in EF mount for most jobs, but it’s good to know they come with PL too.
Real-World Use
We’ve used this kit on:
• Corporate case studies where interviews and b-roll need to be shot on the same lens, back-to-back.
• High-speed location days where there’s no time for switching primes every five minutes.
• Docu-style branded films, where we need that balance of nimble crew size and high-end image.
We typically pair the kit with our Sachtler tripod system, follow focus, and matte box — though the internal focus design also means less faffing with ND and less lens breathing when pulling focus during a shot.
And yes, they travel in a hard case in our video production van — ready to go when the brief demands quality and agility.
